Apprenticeship and Traineeship Opportunities

To take up a school based traineeship at Peel High School you must:

• be in Year 10 or early Year 11
• have good school attendance above 85%
• have support from home to get to work
• be prepared to work hard at school to catch up on missed classes

Hunter New England Health - Cert III in Business Administration (Medical)

• this opportunity is offered to Aboriginal students currently in Year 10

• applicants need to complete an Expression of Interest, answer the selection criteria questions and provide a resume

Tamworth City Toyota - Cert II in Automotive Servicing Technology

• School Based Traineeship in Cert II in Automotive Servicing Technology, 130 days (minimum) on the job training required up to the end of the student’s HSC year

• To start in 2018, Year 10 students need to apply now

• Students to apply with resume and a cover letter stating their interest in gaining a school based traineeship in Automotive

• Interviews will be conducted in the first couple of weeks of Term IV

  

• One week’s work experience will be offered to applicants who are successful at interview

• Sign up will ideally occur at the end of Term IV so that induction and a few days training in the holidays can occur before TAFE starts

Peel Valley Machinery - Cert II Automotive Servicing Technology - closed

• Current Year 10 students 2017 need to apply now to start the traineeship in Term IV 2017, completion in Year 12 2019

• Peel Valley Group provides an excellent career opportunity in automotive servicing, with the option to work with trucks or agricultural machinery

  

• Students and their parents will need to attend an information evening at Peel Valley Machinery early in Term II, followed by a week's work experience in June. Final selection is in August.

Reece Plumbing - Cert II Warehousing Operations 

• This is not a plumbing traineeship, but you will learn about the parts plumbers use in their trade and how to store them in the warehouse before sale

• Includes customer service and some retail duties

• Work one day on the job per week, as well as half the school holidays to make up 100 days on the job

• Training is delivered at work, not by TAFE
